New this May - Fort William Family Health Team is launching a new support group for individuals who are care givers for parents, children with high needs or partners with a chronic condition. Meetings will occur bi-monthly on Tuesdays at 2 pm. Call and speak to our Mental Health Team for more information.

The Fort William Clinic operates an interdisciplinary shared care Mental Health program including Physicians, NPs, Social Workers and psychiatry. The program provides assessment and brief interventions for individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health symptoms, emotional difficulty, who do not have access to private insurance for alternative mental health care.

Offering both individual and group support for:

  • Depression and low mood
  • Stress Management
  • Anxiety and panic
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship and family stressors

For chronic or more acute mental health concerns, the team facilitates referrals and transition to the appropriate agency or program. The program is based on a “brief treatment” model limited to 8 sessions per episode of care and is exclusively available to patients rostered to the Fort William Clinic.
